Kozhikodan Halwa : Kerala traditional sweets
Kozhikodan halwa is one of the most famous sweet pudding which is well known in Kerala and in Kozhikode. Whenever you go to the Kerala you should taste that food. Here you will find different types of dishes on the markets and roads, in which an array of colors will have different ingredients taste. The dish is mainly made from good quantity of sugar with flour, coconut oil and some delicious things. The characteristic of Kozhikodan halwa is that it is made of pure coconut oil, and not like other pudding like ghee.
History says that the halwa in Kozhikode was actually developed by Arab residents who settled here in the old days. Anyway, Kozhikodan pudding is a humble and there is something that should not be left by any person coming to Kozhikode. Due to the absence of ghee it is served for every aged person. There is not any disturbance for the old person related to the oil and ghee.
